ANNOUNCEMENTS

Bible Study Continues :  Join the Rector each Thursday morning at 10:30 – noon in the Gowan Library for an informal and lively discussion of the readings for the coming Sunday.  Make a full morning of it by joining us for the healing service at 9:15 am each Thursday and then stay for Bible study.

Adult Education: Beginning on Thursday, 23 April, in the Parish Hall at 7:30 to 9:00 PM, and continuing on successive Thursdays until the end of May, the Three Amigos (Bill, Lloyd, and Jan) and the Head Honcho (Dennis) will lead discussions and foster reflection on the Wisdon Tradition. We will be guided by our reading of Cynthia Bourgeault's, The Wisdom Way of Knowing: Reclaiming an Ancient Tradition to Awaken the Heart. The book is available on-line or through our local bookstore. Please join us.

Did you know St. Barnabas has a book club?  Do you like to read and discuss books?  Come join us.  We meet most months on the fourth Monday evening to discuss the book of the month.  Our book choices generally involve some kind of spiritual subject matter and are recommended by fellow readers.  In February we are reading The Christ Commission by Og Mandino.  We will meet to discuss it on February 23rd @ 7:30 at Anita Warner's house.  Call Anita if you are interested in attending on the 23rd (201-3059).  Future books include: Christ The Lord:  The Road to Cana by Ann Rice, and The Faith Club: a Muslim, a Christian, a Jew -- Three women search for understanding  by Ranya Idiby, Suzanne Oliver and Priscilla Warner.

Library Update: Barbara Herrick and I have recently volunteered to oversee the St. Barnabas library and are trying to get a handle on organizing after the renovation. In the meantime, we encourage you to check out books. You will find instructions on the desk. Though we have no set hours at this point, one of us is usually in the library on Monday and Friday mornings. If you have any questions or comments, please call Barb (842-2068) or me, Paddie Fowler (842-1653). Thanks.

Sunday School:   Sunday school Easter session will begin April 20th and run through May 17th  with a "Kids' First Sunday" on May 31st. There will be no Sunday School on May 24 for the Memorial Day weekend.  The primary group teachers  for this session are Karen Carncross and Shauna Duffy  (ages 4 through 2nd grade).  Gillian Allard will teach the intermediate group (ages 3rd grade and up).  Nursery care is available for children 3 and under.
