Supper Club returns to St Barnabas!

From Mo Godman… Getting together, whatever the weather!

It’s been a long stretch of “Covidified” years, and many of us are eager to connect beyond Sundays once again. One of the very best ways to enjoy each other’s company and to get to know each other better is by joining a Supper Club! If you’re a past participant, you’ll know how much fun and how rewarding it is to hang out with fellow parishioners. If you haven’t participated in the past, you have a treat in store! If you’re new to the parish we want to welcome and get to know you, and what better way than around a table? And for those of you who’ve been a part of this community for a long time, this is your opportunity to meet new folks and enjoy their company.

Usually, we begin a new Supper club year in September but why wait? So, just this time we’re beginning in late January and ending in August when we’ll resume the usual September-August span.

We can gather for Brunches, Lunches, Desserts, or Dinners, depending on what’s best for the group…the mantra for these get-togethers could be “whatever works.” In the past, the norm was for a group of six or eight to meet at each other’s houses, taking turns as hosts. As we take into account this post-Covid period when some of us are still leery about too much face to face contact, we invite you to choose the time and place that suits you best – could be an outdoor restaurant, a Zoom meeting, picnics, potlucks and yes, each other’s homes. When you sign up, you’ll have the opportunity to make your preferences known and will be paired with people who share your preferences.

You can sign up in the parlor or during coffee hour after church. Or you can email me at mogodman@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to send you a sign-up sheet as well as answer any questions you have. Always pleased to hear from you!
