At St. Barnabas, we seek to foster the growth and development of the inherent spirituality found in all of God’s children, no matter their age.
We provide a safe space for all age groups to explore and come to know God through play, prayer, and being in community with one another.
Children’s Ministry | Grades PreK-4 through 5
Summer Schedule: Join us on Sundays in August at 9:45 a.m. in the Youth Room for our Summer Sunday Storytellers series! This is a curriculum written and developed right here in our own diocese by Valerie Reinke, who is our Canon Missioner for Faith Formation. Children will come together to share a story, connect its message with our own faith, and create a fun craft together. The stories range from Wangari’s Tress of Peace, to The Three Questions, to Stone Soup, each exploring the world around us and how God, our faith, and the Holy Bible tie into it. We can’t wait to explore God and faith with the youngest EpiscoPals among us!
September 14 – June 14: Through Godly Play, we aim not only to be a resource to the youngest Christians among us, but to learn alongside them as we explore together the mystery of God’s presence in our lives. Together through Godly Play, we nurture participants to larger dimensions of belief and faith through wondering and play. Older youth are always welcome to join us as helpers for the younger children!
Children can join us in the Youth Room at 9:45 on Sunday mornings for Godly Play while parents attend the 10 a.m. worship service (mid-September–Pentecost Sunday). Children rejoin their family after the Sharing of the Peace to celebrate Holy Communion with the church community.

Youth Ministry | Grades 6 through 12
Youth Ministry at St. Barnabas provides a safe space for adolescents to explore their relationship with God, with their faith, and with each other. We believe that God loves you just as you are, and we do too. We have questions that we have been afraid to ask, that we fear might be unanswerable. If you have questions and fears, you’ll be in good company.
Youth meet in the Youth Room on Sunday mornings after 10 a.m. service (September 14–June 14). Grab a quick snack at Coffee Hour to bring to the Youth Room, hang out, build some friendships, and maybe learn something along the way. The Youth Room is open until 1:30 p.m. and kids can stay as long or short a time as they like.
The St. Barnabas Youth Group also hosts monthly movie nights on the second Saturday of each month.* We have pizza and sweet treats while we hang out and watch a movie together in the St. Barnabas Parish Hall. There’s always some foosball thrown in there, too! Friends are welcome!
