Stewards of Creation
God of unchangeable power, when you fashioned the world
the morning stars sang together and the
host of heaven shouted for joy:
Open our eyes to the wonders of creation and teach us to use all things for good, to the honor of your glorious Name. Amen.

Who are the Stewards of Creation at St. Barnabas?
A ministry established in 2024, the Stewards of Creation, is focused on developing and implementing a campus–wide sustainability program to ensure sound environmental stewardship. For several years we have been providing plant starts near Earth Day, including most recently, on April 26, 2026. These are locally grown organic veggies and herbs, as well as seeds.
Among our most recent successes was securing a grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce for the installation of solar panels on the roof of the parish hall and office building, to be completed by May of 2026. A recent article in the magazine, PNW Bainbridge, gives more details.
