Worship at a Glance
Sunday Worship
Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings! We offer an 8 a.m. Rite I service as well as a 10:30 a.m. Rite II service.
“The Bridge,” is a time for attendees of both services to gather between Sunday morning services for adult formation and other church–wide activities. We meet in the parish hall from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Topics vary, but are always inspiring and informative.
Centering Prayer
Centering Prayer is a receptive method of Christian silent prayer which deepens our relationship with God, the Indwelling Presence…a prayer in which we can experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself.
We invite you to Centering Prayer Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. in the church. All are welcome and no experience with Centering Prayer is needed.
“The Thursday healing service let me get to know a small group of people deeply.
I am overwhelmed by the goodness
of the people there.”
Healing Eucharist
If you are seeking a midweek worship service, the intimate and restorative Healing Eucharist held in the sanctuary every Thursday at 9 a.m. is waiting for you. All in attendance gather in a circle in the chancel, read healing prayers, and take part in a shared homily reflecting on the scripture of the day. Clergy prays over each person with the laying on of hands, and then share in Holy Eucharist together. This is a safe space to share what is heavy on your mind or heart, or to be present for others as they seek community to share what is weighing on them. All are welcome!
Why Compline? Nighttime prayer derives its content from the wisdom of the centuries in scripture and above all in the Psalms, but also from contemporary Christian experiences of God. These offices celebrate the awareness that each of us who pray is a part of the Body of Christ. So we are taken over the threshold from daytime to evening, not in a mood of self–centered spirituality, but as representatives of humanity, acknowledging our creaturehood before God.
Join us for compline, the last prayers of the day, three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9 p.m. Invitation links will arrive in your inbox each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday inviting you to the Zoom gathering. Please fill out the form below to be added to the Compline email list, or call the church office at 206.842.5601. We look forward to praying with you. If you have questions or would like to lead another of the Daily Offices each week, please contact the church office at info@stbbi.org.
